Sometimes someone has a story that is almost as impressive as their talent. Mimoza (yes, that’s her real name) was born in Kosovo, but fled to Sweden at a young age with her family. She later moved to Germany, where she spent her teenage years writing songs. And after finding success with her music in Japan, Australia & Europe, she moved to Los Angeles.
It was there where she started to embrace a career as an artist herself. With ‘Big Girls Cry’ being her first solo-single: “I wrote this song as therapy for myself. I always had people criticizing me for being too emotional. One day, I had enough of it. I think being emotional is a beautiful strength to have. Some people are not even in touch with their feelings, so I wrote the song to remind myself that I can be both tough and vulnerable at the same time, and that is a beautiful power women have. Be both strong & vulnerable. Be you.”
